PQE Group is a global technology solutions and compliance consulting services company. They made their own Ghandi’s motto “Be the Change you wish to see in the World”. And in doing so, they work together, on daily basis, to make the world a real better place.
For this reason, they decided to stand alongside WAMI, on this journey to give direct access to clean water to the people of the Village of Tenghori in Senegal. Their contribution made possible for 15 families (an amount of 176 people), to have finally clean water at hand, for a lifetime.
How does the project work?
A water network is built, doing an in-depth excavation. The water is taken from an underground aquifer which is already drinkable because it has been purified over the centuries. From there starts a network of pipes that arrives in the nearby villages. From this network you get to the tap. There is a counter because all families pay a monthly fee, like a bill (500 francs a month = 50 cents €, very low). It serves to empower users: it avoids waste and finances maintenance. The maintenance of the aqueduct is managed by the inhabitants of the village, generally 5-6 people.
